The men's 100 meter freestyle swimming competition at the 1928 Olympic Games in Antwerp was held on August 10th and 11th. Johnny Weissmüller swam to the gold medal with a new Olympic record. Silver won István Bárány ahead of Japanese Yasuji Miyazaki .
