The men's 100 meter freestyle swimming competition at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin was held on August 8th and 9th. The Hungarian Ferenc Csik became Olympic champion. Silver went to Yusa Masanori from Japan and bronze to his compatriot Arai Shigeo .
