The weightlifting men in the class over 105 kg (super heavyweight) at the 2012 Olympics in London took place on 7 August 2012 at ExCeL Exhibition Center instead. 19 athletes from 17 countries competed.

The competition consisted of two parts: tearing (Snatch) and pushing (Clean and Jerk) . The participants started in two groups in the snatch, in which they had three attempts. Whoever remained without a valid attempt was eliminated. Each starter again had three attempts in pushing. The athlete with the highest aggregate weight won. In the event of a tie, lower body weight was decisive.

  • The gold medal for Behdad Salimikordasiabi and the silver medal for Sajjad Anoushiravani meant Iran's first double victory in this weight class.
  • Matthias Steiner fell while trying to tear 196 kg and was hit in the neck by the barbell. He suffered bruises in the chest and neck area and had to abandon the competition.
