The rowing competition in the double sculls of women at the 2012 Olympics in London was from July 30 to August 3, 2012 at the Dorney Lake held. 20 athletes in 10 boats competed.

The rowing regatta, which was held over 2000 meters, began with two heats. The first two boats qualified directly for the final, the others had to go to the repechage . Here the first two boats qualified for the final, the rest made it to the B-final, in which the places 7 to 10 were determined.

The qualified boats are highlighted in light green.

The final was the first ever Olympic victory for a British boat in the women's double scull. For the first time there was a medal for an Australian and a Polish boat in this boat class. Katherine Grainger took part in the Olympic Games for the fourth time. After three silver medals in the double scull (2000 and 2008) and in the double without a helmsman (2004), she won her first gold in the double scull.
