Australia wasoriginallysupposed to take part in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck with six alpine skiers. One of them, Ross Milne , had an accident while training and died as a result. The remaining five participants, including three men and two women, took part in the alpine ski competitions as planned. Only Peter Brockhoff decided not to take part in the descent. No medals could be won.
