The operation Carne fraca ( German  Operation weak flesh ) is an action of the Polícia Federal do Brasil , the Brazilian Federal Police , which began on March 17, 2017th

Affected are the companies JBS with the brands Seara , Swift , Friboi and Vigor , as well as BRF , with the brands Sadia and Perdigão , which mixed refined but spoiled meat with the meat they were selling at home and abroad. In the scandal, more than 30 meat inspectors were fired on charges of allowing spoiled meat for sale, falsifying best-before dates and beautifying their appearance.
