history

The Limes passed through Orlen. The place was first mentioned in 1339. In 1583 the place had 91 inhabitants.

1 July 1972 Orlen was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Taunusstein incorporated . For Orlen, as for the other parts of the city, a local district was formed with a local advisory board and a local councilor .

Regular events

Particularly noteworthy is the regionally known and popular Orler market , which takes place annually on the penultimate Friday in July on the historic market square under the linden trees on the B 417 .

In addition, the traditional morning pint of the volunteer fire brigade and the village square festival (formerly potato festival) take place every two years. Since 2004 there has also been a Christmas market in December. Since 1997, public theater performances for children and adults have been held annually in November by the local theater group Wundertüte. There is also an Easter bonfire and a cap meeting as well as the Lebendiges Orlen association.
