Orzubek Shayimov

Orzubek Shayimov (also Orsubek Schajimow , Uzbek; Орзубек Шаимов; born September 25, 1987 in the province of Sirdaryo ) is an Uzbek amateur bantamweight boxer and 2012 Olympic participant.

Boxing career

Orzubek Shayimov won a bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships 2003 in Bucharest and the silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships 2005 in Karachi . At the Junior World Championships in Agadir in 2006 , he defeated, among others, Samir Mmmdov , but retired before reaching the medal ranks against the Russian starter.

At the Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar in 2007 he penetrated through victories against, among others, Worapoj Petchkoom to the final, where he lost to Enchbatyn Badar-Uugan and thus again achieved second place. At the 2007 World Championships in Chicago he lost in the second fight against Bruno Julie .

At the 2011 World Championships in Baku he defeated Mykola Butsenko , Angel Rodriguez and Veaceslav Gojan , was only eliminated in the quarterfinals against John Nevin and qualified with the 7th place for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . There he was eliminated from the first fight against Robenilson de Jesus .

He is also the winner of several international tournaments, among others in Bulgaria, Germany, Finland and Pakistan. He defeated Detelin Dalakliew , John Nevin , Furkan Memiş , Sergei Wodopjanow , Mohammed Ouadahi and Bashir Hassan in tournaments . For Azerbaijan Baku Fires he took part in the World Series of Boxing , defeating Samir Brahimi, but losing to Alberto Melián and Elias Emigdio.
