Osjornoje ( Russian Озёрное , German  Groß Barthen and Klein Hohenhagen , Lithuanian Bartai ) is the common name of two formerly independent places in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast ( Königsberg region (Prussia) ). Together they belong to the Oserkowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Oserki (Groß Lindenau) ) in Gwardeisk district ( Tapiau district ).

Geographical location

Osjornoje is located 20 kilometers southeast of the Oblast capital Kaliningrad (Königsberg) north of the Russian trunk road R 508 and can be reached via a spur road in a northerly direction. The nearest train station is Komsomolsk- Sapadny ( Löwenhagen ) on the Kaliningrad-Nesterow (Königsberg-Stallupönen / Ebenrode) line , a section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway .

history

Until 1945

Osjornoje / Groß Barthen

Gutsdorf, known as Groß Barthen until 1946 , was founded in 1513.

In 1874 the place came to the newly established district of Friedrichstein (today Russian: Kamenka) in the district of Königsberg (Prussia) in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1906, the small southern town of Klein Hohenhagen (now also in Russian: Osjornoje) was incorporated into Groß Barthen. The population was 193 in 1910.

In 1928 the rural community Sand bei Löwenhagen (no longer existent) and the manor district Groß Barthen merged to form the new rural community Groß Barthen. This was reclassified on May 14, 1930 to the district of Groß Ottenhagen (today Russian: Berjosowka). The population rose to 206 by 1933 and was already 238 in 1939. In 1939 the district of Groß Ottenhagen was reclassified into the newly formed Samland district , to which it belonged until 1945.

As a result of the war, Groß Barthen came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 and was given the Russian name "Osjornoje".

Osjornoje / Klein Hohenhagen

South of the place Osjornoje, formerly known as Groß Barthen , is the district called Klein Hohenhagen until 1946 , a former Vorwerk . It is reported that on December 28, 1713 Otto Magnus von Dönhoff et al. a. acquired the Klein Hohenhagen estate. When the Friedrichstein district was established in 1874 , Klein Hohenhagen was part of it - in the Königsberg district (Prussia) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1895 the small town had 37 inhabitants and eleven years later - on November 28, 1906 - it was incorporated into the northern manor district of Groß Barthen (now also in Russian: Osjornoje). In 1945, Klein Hohenhagen shared the fate of every place in northern East Prussia with the mother community and was assigned to the Soviet Union - like Groß Barthen under the Russian name "Osjornoje".

Since 1945

Groß Barthen and Klein Hohenhagen were given the Russian name "Osjornoje" in 1946 and were incorporated into the newly created Rajon Gwardeisk ( Tapiau district ) in 1947 . Initially separate villages, they came to the Osjorski selski soviet (Dorfsovjet Oserki (Groß Lindenau) ) in the same year . Only a comprehensive structural and administrative reform united both places to a "settlement" ( Russian possjolok ) called place, which with its 6 inhabitants today (as of October 14, 2010) belongs to the Oserkowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Oserki (Groß Lindenau) ).

church

Until 1945 the two places Groß Barthen and Klein Hohenhagen with their mostly Protestant population were parish in different parishes : Groß Barthen belonged to the church Groß Ottenhagen (today Russian: Berjosowka ), while Klein Hohenhagen belongs to the church Löwenhagen (East Prussia) (Russian: Komsomolsk ) was. Both parishes were incorporated into the parish of Königsberg-Land I in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Osjornoje is located in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , the main church of the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
