Pamela Martin (film editor)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pamela Martin (* before 1992) is an American film editor .

Life

After assisting Tim Squyres with editing in Ang Lee's films Shoving Hands and The Wedding Banquet from 1992 onwards , it was David O. Russell who hired her as a film editor for his debut film Spanking the Monkey . She edited her first independent film editing with him in his New York apartment without avids , so that the editing of individual scenes took several hours.

After she then edited especially her preference for black comedies such as Beverly Hills and Little Miss Sunshine , she worked again with Russel in 2010 on his project The Fighter . This film demanded all of her skills, as it is not only a family drama and an action-packed boxing film, but also partly a documentary, as individual scenes from the HBO documentary High on Crack Street: Lost Lives in Lowell were processed in the film . Her reward was an Oscar nomination for Best Editing . Her phones rang at 6 a.m. when those around her noticed that she had been nominated. But she said, despite all the joy, that she was not only an editor, but also a mother, which is why she had to make breakfast for the children first.
