The Partito Pirata Italiano ( PPI ; German  Italian Pirate Party ) is a party in Italy . It was officially founded on September 16, 2006. From November 2012 until the new election in 2013 she was represented by two members of the Camera dei deputati .

The PPI is led by the permanent general assembly, which is realized via the technical platform Liquid Feedback . Legally, a "bureaucrat" represents the party externally, this is currently Athos Gualazzi . The party is a founding member of Pirate Parties International .

history

The inaugural meeting of the Pirate Party took place in June 2006. The pirates did not constitute themselves as a party, but as a political organization . In December 2011 the party was reorganized. In particular, a new statute was passed through which the party is managed directly by the members using liquid feedback . Administrative tasks are carried out by a bureaucrat and a treasurer.

On October 30, 2012, the member of the Chamber of Deputies, Francesco Barbato (formerly deputy chairman of Italia dei Valori ) applied to join the Pirate Party. This was accepted in the course of November. Together with Giuseppe Vatinno, Barbato forms the first pirate group in a national parliament.

In the 2009 European elections , the party's general secretary, Alessandro Bottoni , stood on the Sinistra e Libertà list in the North-East constituency . The list received 3.4% of the vote and Botoni 811 preferential votes .

In the 2014 European elections , the party supported the list L'Altra Europa con Tsipras .
