Piratpartiet (German: Die Piratenpartei) is a political party in Norway . It is part of the international movement of pirate parties .

history

Efforts to found a Norwegian pirate party began shortly after the Swedish pirate party was founded on January 1st, 2006. After two unsuccessful attempts, a preparatory meeting was held on June 16th, 2012 in Trondheim . The official founding took place on December 16, 2012 after the 5000 supporter signatures required for official registration as a party had been collected. Registration took place on January 24, 2013.

The party ran for general election in Norway in 2013 in all provinces and received 0.3% of the vote. In the 2017 election , she ran in eleven of the 19 constituencies and received 0.1% of the vote.

Provincial associations have existed in all provinces since April 2, 2013 . The PpN uses Liquid Feedback to form internal opinions. With “Unge Pirater” there is a youth organization.
