Paul-André Durocher
Paul-André Durocher (born May 28, 1954 in Windsor , Ontario ) is Archbishop of Gatineau .
Life
Paul-André Durocher studied in Ottawa , Strasbourg and Rome and was ordained a priest on July 2, 1982 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Sault Sainte Marie and titular bishop of Ausuaga on January 20, 1997 . The bishop of Sault Sainte Marie, Jean-Louis Plouffe , ordained him episcopal on March 14 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Bernard Francis Pappin , auxiliary bishop in Sault Sainte Marie, and Jacques Landriault , former bishop of Timmins .
On April 27, 2002, he was appointed Bishop of Alexandria-Cornwall by Pope John Paul II . On October 12, 2011 he was received by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Gatineau and introduced to office on November 30 of the same year.
Paul-André Durocher was elected Chairman of the Canadian Bishops' Conference (CECC) on September 25, 2013 for a two-year term . He was previously Vice President of the Bishops' Conference, succeeding Richard William Smith .
