Paul Kolb

Paul Kolb (born September 21, 1910 in Kleinottweiler , † April 19, 1992 in St. Ingbert ) was a German SPD politician . He was the mayor and lord mayor of the city of Neunkirchen .

Life

After finishing school, Paul Kolb became an administrative clerk at the Homburg district office and worked there from 1930 to 1935. He then began an administrative career with the Reich Commissioner for Saarland. On January 1, 1941, he became mayor of Kleinblittersdorf , an office which he held until July 31, 1946. He then worked for the Saarland state government until 1962 . From 1962 to 1966 he was first alderman of the city of Neunkirchen. After the rise of the city to center city , he was elevated to the rank of mayor, working with the incumbent mayors Josef Frank and Friedrich Regitz . After the unexpected death of Regitz, he was first from November 10, 1971 to July 9, 1974 commissioner for the office of Lord Mayor, but was then promoted to Lord Mayor. He held this post until his retirement on September 30, 1975.

As the representative for the office of mayor, he handed over the municipal clinic to its destination. The implementation of the territorial and administrative reform in Saarland in 1974 also fell into his area of ​​responsibility . This made Neunkirchen the district town of the Neunkirchen district . The city itself gained the previously independent districts of Wiebelskirchen , Hangard , Münchwies , Ludwigsthal , Bayrisch-Kohlhof , Hirschberg, Menschenhaus and Eschweilerhof .

Paul Kolb was also state chairman of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) from 1963 to 1987. Because of this longstanding activity, he received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st Class in 1973 . He also received the Saarland Order of Merit in 1976 .
