Paul Konitzer (politician)

Paul Konitzer (born June 11, 1918 in Konitz ; † August 24, 1982 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt and chairman of the CDU district committee in Halle in the GDR .

Life

The son of a Catholic family attended elementary school and completed a commercial apprenticeship in 1939 and then worked in the profession. Konitzer was drafted into the Wehrmacht for military service and in 1943 became a lieutenant in a grenadier regiment.

After the war, he became in 1945 member of the CDU in the Soviet occupation zone . On December 28, 1946, he became chairman of the CDU district association in Köthen and later a member of the CDU state executive committee for Saxony-Anhalt . He was also a member of the revision commission at the party leadership in Berlin . From 1946 to 1950 he worked as a speaker and from 1950 to 1952 as a city ​​councilor in Köthen . From March to October 1950 he was a short-term substitute for Dorothea Lyding as a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt , where he was a member of the budget and finance committee. Until 1972 he was chairman of the CDU district council in Koethen and at the same time a member of the district council and the CDU district council in Halle. From 1972 to 1974 he was chairman of the Halle district association. From March 14, 1974 to March 30, 1981 Konitzer was chairman of the CDU district board in Halle and from October 1977 until his death in 1982 a member of the main board of the CDU. Konitzer was a member of the Halle district assembly from October 1976 until his death .
