Paul Lang (pastor)

Paul Lang (pseudonym: O. Hellmuth ) (born September 9, 1846 in Wildenstein , Oberamt Crailsheim , † March 19, 1898 in Urach ) was a German pastor and writer .

Life

Born as the son of a pastor, Lang attended Latin schools in Müsingen and Lauffen am Neckar before attending the Lower Theological Seminary in Schönthal from 1860 . From 1864 to 1868 he was in the Tübingen monastery and studied philosophy and evangelical theology . During his studies in 1865 he became a member of the Normannia Tübingen fraternity . After completing his studies, he worked as a vicar in Eningen and Ulm for three years . In 1871 he returned as a repeaterreturned to the monastery in Tübingen and also attended lectures on the philosophy of Plato at the university . His brother Hermann Lang was a pastor in southern Russia . This he visited 1872/73 on a scientific journey in 1873 deacon in Leonberg , 1878 parish priest in Maulbronn and 1883 Second parish priest in Ludwigsburg . In 1889 he became dean in Urach . He made a name for himself through his poetic and literary work. He was also regarded as a literary critic , he wrote reviews for the papers for literary entertainment , the Swabian Mercury and other journals.
