Career

Kašpařík began his career in his hometown in the youth teams of the IHC Písek . During the 1996/97 season he made his debut in the men's team, which belonged to the second-rate first division . During the 1999 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the seventh round in 200th place by the Philadelphia Flyers , for which he never played. Instead, he got the opportunity, after an outstanding 1998/99 season with 20 goals and 23 assists in the first division for IHC Písek, in the extra league . He has received offers from HC Sparta Prague , HC České Budějovice and HC Plzeň . Kašpařík opted for Sparta and completed 22 Extraliga games for this club before loaning out to his home club.

At the beginning of the 2000/01 season Kašpařík was loaned to HC Karlovy Vary , but returned to the Sparta squad before Christmas 2000 and competed in the Spengler Cup . At the end of the following season he won the Czech championship with Sparta. In the middle of the 2002/03 season he was exchanged due to poor performance against Vojtěch Kubinčák from the Bílí Tygři Liberec . He was one of the White Tigers' top attackers before returning to Sparta in 2004 and signing a two-year contract. At Sparta, many Czech stars played at this time due to the lockout in the National Hockey League , so Kašpařík got little ice age.

In 2006 Kašpařík moved to HC Hamé Zlín , where he again advanced to a high performer and was the fifth best scorer within the team. In the summer of 2007 he signed a two-year contract with the Bílí Tygři Liberec, where he was able to confirm his achievements and was his team's top scorer in the 2008/09 season . For the 2010/11 season he moved within the Extraliga to HC České Budějovice , for which he was active until October 2012. Then his contract was dissolved and Kašpařík was taken under contract by HC Škoda Plzeň . With his new club he won the Czech championship at the end of the 2012/13 season.

In December 2014 Kašpařík was loaned to BK Mladá Boleslav , for whom he played until the end of the season. He then let his career at HC Slavia Prague end in the second division.

Kašpařík was considered a very good two-way striker who also had a very good face-off game .

International

Pavel Kašpařík has so far (as of 2010) completed five international matches for the Czech national ice hockey team , in which he scored two goals. He was used at the LG Hockey Games 2008 and in two preparation games of the 2008/09 season. He also got a nomination for the 2009 World Cup , which he had to turn down due to an injury.
