Pazarlar is a city and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Kütahya . The city is located about 90 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Kütahya . The place was upgraded to a municipality in 1958 .
The district is the smallest in the province and is located in the southwest of this. It is bordered by Simav County to the northwest and west , Şaphane County to the east and Selendi County to the south ( Manisa Province ). The Pazarlar Göleti reservoir is located about three kilometers west of the district town .
The county was formed in 1987 from the southeastern part of Simav County. Some villages from the Bucak Merkez and the community of Pazarlar were separated for this. The community had a population of 3,610 in 1985, at the last census before the change of area.
At the end of 2018, the Pazarlar district consisted of the district town as well as seven municipalities with an average of 310 residents. The population spectrum ranges from 831 ( Sofular ) to 69 ( Tepeköy ), six villages have fewer than 310 inhabitants. With its population density of 48.0, the district almost comes close to the provincial value (49.7 inhabitants per km²).
