Altıntaş is a city and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Kütahya . The city is located about 40 kilometers south (southeast) of the provincial capital Kütahya .

The district formed in 1947 is located in the southeast of the province. It borders in the southwest on Gediz County , in the northwest on Aslanapa County , in the north and northeast on the Central County, in the east on Afyonkarahisar Province and in the south on Dumlupınar County and Uşak Province . The city is located on the D615 trunk road , a cross connection from the D650 to the E 90 running south . The regional airport Zafer Airport ( Turkish: Zafer Havalimanı ), which supplies the cities of Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar and Uşak , is about ten kilometers north of the district town, near the village of Kuyucak .

The Beşkarış Dam is 10 km south-southeast of the city .

In addition to the district town, the district includes 35 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 328 residents. The population numbers range from 879 ( Zafertepeçalköy ) down to 53 ( Şanlıyurt ), 18 villages have more than 328 inhabitants. The population density is about a third of the provincial average (17.9 - 49.7 inh. Per km²).
