In 1957, Dellacha was named Argentina's Sportsman of the Year . The defender won his first and only national title as a player in his last season, the 1958 season, when he took first place in the Primera División with three points ahead of Boca Juniors and CA San Lorenzo de Almagro , both from Buenos Aires , occupied. In the same year Pedro Dellacha left the Racing Club and went to Mexico to Necaxa , then not in the Mexican first division. With the club from Aguascalientes Dellacha won the Copa Mexico in 1960, after which they rose to the Primera División . Dellacha played active soccer in Mexico until 1965 before he ended his playing career and began a successful coaching career.

For his team, however, the World Cup was not very successful, because the reigning South American champions were eliminated in the preliminary round with a last place in a group with Germany , Northern Ireland and Czechoslovakia . After the World Cup, Dellacha's time on the national team ended.
