Peter Daka

Peter M. Daka (born November 3, 1960 ) is a politician in Zambia .

Peter Daka was a purchasing manager, on the board of the Mineworkers Union of Roan and Mpatamatu and a member of the Pan-African Parliament for Zambia, where he chaired the Standing Committee on Money and Finance.

Peter Daka was initially a member of the Heritage Party , changed and won a mandate for the Movement for Multiparty Democracy in the by-election on October 14, 2003 in the National Assembly of Zambia in the Msanzala constituency in the Petauke district . In the cabinet reshuffle on August 3, 2005, he became Deputy Minister for Science and Technology.

Since October 2006 he has been Minister for Communication and Transport. As such, he was recently skeptical about the Eastern Africa Submarine System (EASSY), a fiber optic cable with a capacity of initially 320 and later 640 gigabytes per second, which is supposed to extend from the Republic of South Africa to Sudan .
