George Kunda

George Kunda (born February 26, 1956 in Luanshya , † April 16, 2012 in Lusaka ) was a Zambian politician .

Career

George Kunda studied and passed his law exam at the Law School of the University of Zambia . In the 2006 election in Zambia , he won the Muchinga mandate southeast of Serenje in the National Assembly for the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy .

Kunda has served as Attorney General and Minister of Justice since 2001. He has served as Chairman of the Law Association of Zambia. During the Kaunda dictatorship he made a name for himself as a human rights activist. From 2008 to 2011 he served as his country's vice president.

George Kunda was married to Irene Mwezi Kunda. Both were lawyers in Lusaka .
