Joseph Mulyata is a businessman from Lusaka . Until October 2006 he was Minister of the Western Province , which is also where his constituency is located. There he was controversial because he is a candidate for the party leadership in Lusaka and not the province.
In the 2006 election in Zambia , Joseph Mulyata won the mandate of the Mongu -Zentral constituency in the National Assembly for the Movement for Multiparty Democracy . In October 2006 he was appointed Minister of the Southern Province .
In the southern province, where in the 2001 election in Zambia 18 of 19 constituencies were won by candidates of the United Party for National Development and in 2006 all 19 went to the UPND with a superior majority, the MMD is in a difficult position.
