Peter Friedrich Christian von Borcke

Peter Friedrich Christian von Borcke (born September 12, 1767 in Rosenfelde , Regenwalde district , † February 25, 1822 in Schwessow , Greifenberg district ) was a Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the New Mark Dragoon Regiment.

Life

origin

His parents were Karl Wilhelm von Borcke (* 1738; † March 20, 1797) and his wife Karoline Helene Wendland.

Military career

In 1780 he became a Junker in the 12th Dragoon Regiment . He was born on June 7, 1783 Ensign and on November 10, 1786 Seconde Lieutenant . During the campaign in Poland he fought in the battle of Rawka and the siege of Warsaw . On January 3, 1795 he became Premier Lieutenant , on October 9, 1798, Chief of Staff, and on December 4, 1801, a real captain . In the Fourth Coalition War he fought in combat near Schwartau, Königsberg and the Passarge .

After the Peace of Tilsit , he became a major in the Wedell Dragoons Brigade on September 3, 1807 . On October 1, 1808, he came to the New Mark Dragoon Regiment. There he became squadron chief on June 26, 1809 and interim commander on September 5, 1812 . During the Wars of Liberation he fought in the battles near Großgörschen , Bautzen , Leipzig , Arcis-sur-Aube and Laon . During this time he received the Russian Order of St. Anne 2nd Class for the Battle of Hanau and on May 19, 1813 the Iron Cross 2nd Class for Großgörschen. On May 28, 1813, he was confirmed as commander. On August 11, 1813, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. For this he received the Iron Cross 1st Class on September 29, 1813 and on September 8, 1813 he was promoted to colonel .

After the war, on 15 September 1815 he received his farewell with pension as a major general. He died on February 25, 1822 in Schwessow.
