Peter Gerloff

Peter Gerloff (born February 4, 1957 in Münster ) is a German Roman Catholic priest . He lives in Goslar and is a lyricist and composer of numerous sacred songs .

Life

Peter Gerloff became vicar in 1981 and from 1984 he was ordained Protestant pastor in the Ruhr area. He married in 1982. As the father of three children , he converted to the Catholic Church with his family in 1990 . In 1995 he received with Zölibatsdispens in Hildesheim Cathedral , the ordination .

From 1992 to 2003 he was hospital chaplain at the State Hospital Hildesheim , since the consecration Subsidiar in Westfeld , since 1999 in Hildesheim. From 2004 to 2013 he was parish priest in Sehnde , St. Maria , and Bolzum , St. Josef , then in Bad Nenndorf , Maria vom St. Rosary . Since September 2015 he has been pastor ( cooperator ) in Goslar, Bad Harzburg and Liebenburg . Since 2003 he has been working as an author at Wikipedia under the user name Rabanus Flavus .

In the songbook All my sources spring in you there are 24 of his songs, which were set to music by Heinz Martin Lonquich . In 2016 the composer Ludger Stühlmeyer set Gerloff's Sternsingerlied to music .
