Peter Wolf (born April 28, 1923 in Remscheid ; † September 25, 2000 there ) was Lord Mayor of Remscheid and an entrepreneur.

Life

Peter Wolf studied mechanical engineering at the engineering school in Wuppertal in the early 1950s . He then became a co-owner of the Wolf and Bangert company in Remscheid, which manufactured tools for processing sugar cane . He was a member of the supervisory board of Remscheider Stadtwerke . Wolf was married and had two daughters.

Peter Wolf had been a member of the Remscheid City Council for the CDU since 1961 and was confirmed as a council member in 1964. From May 8, 1963 to October 19, 1964, he succeeded Gerd Ludwig Lemmer as Lord Mayor of Remscheid.

Honors

On June 5, 1973, Wolf received the citizen's medal from the city of Remscheid, and on January 31, 1974, the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. The Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, was awarded to him on October 28, 1986. The city of Remscheid granted him honorary citizenship on June 19, 2000 .
