Petersglaim is a district of the municipality of Hohenthann in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Petersglaim is located in the Hallertau about two kilometers south of Hohenthann.

history

The are in close proximity barrows prove the early settlement of the area. A Keltenschanze near Oed is another indication. The first documentary mention of Glaim comes from around 1140 in connection with the monastery foundation of the Counts of Roning.

Petersglaim formed its own chairmanship at the time of the Duchy of Bavaria . The place itself consisted of seven properties in 1752. After the edict on the formation of rural communities of July 28, 1808, the Petersglaim chairmanship was to be merged with the Weihenstephan court . But the Petersglaimer refused to form a community with Weihenstephan. When the community was formed in 1818, the communities Petersglaim, Wachelkofen and Weihenstephan, which had emerged from the Weihenstephan tax district, remained separate. On July 1, 1852, the Weihenstephan community wished to merge with the Wachelkofen and Petersglaim communities, but this attempt also failed. The effort initiated by the district office in 1869 to form a mayor's office in Oberköllnbach - Paindlkofen - Martinshaun - Moosthann- Petersglaim-Weihenstephan-Wachelkofen- Oberglaim was unsuccessful.

As part of the territorial reform , the municipality of Petersglaim was incorporated into the unified municipality of Hohenthann on July 1, 1972 with the towns of Bergham, Bergkußl, Grafenhaun , Hader, Hummelsberg, Lehen, Mainzendorf, Oberndorf, Petersglaim, Oed, Rehbügl, Windham, Windkreuth and Windschlag.
