Petr Štochl (born April 24, 1976 in Pilsen , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech handball player . He is 1.95 m tall.

Štochl, who played for the German club Füchse Berlin for twelve years and played for the Czech national team, was a handball goalkeeper .

Petr Štochl began playing handball in his hometown at Kovopetrol Pilsen, where he also made his debut in the Czech premier league. There he won the Czech championship in 1998 and 1999. In 2000 he moved to Dukla Prague, in 2001 back to Pilsen to the city rivals HSC Pilsen and in 2002 to Allrisk Prague. In 2004 he went abroad for the first time, to the French second division club Istres Handball. After two years on the Côte d'Azur , he moved on to the German second division club Füchse Berlin in 2006. With the capital city, he rose to the first handball league in 2007 . 2014 he won with the foxes the DHB Cup and 2015 and 2018 the EHF Cup . He also became club world champion in 2015 and 2016 . After the 28:23 win against TV Hüttenberg on June 3, 2018, Stochl ended his career after 12 years and 526 games in the Foxes jersey. After Malte Semisch injured himself in November 2018, Štochl was reactivated by the Füchsen Berlin for two games.

Petr Štochl has played 204 international matches for the Czech national team. With the Czech Republic he took part in the men's handball world championship in Germany in 2007 , but only finished 12th. He made his last international match in the 27:26 win against Russia on June 8, 2018.

His brother Jan Štochl is also a professional handball goalkeeper.

Štochl has been in charge of goalkeeping training for the second team at Füchse Berlin since summer 2018 .
