Petra Fehrmann

Petra Fehrmann (* 1959 ) is a German actress , acting teacher, speaker and radio presenter .

Life

Petra Fehrmann studied German , pedagogy and art education at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where she completed her Magistra Artium . Between 1979 and 1986/87 she worked several times in Frankfurt am Main in theater productions by the independent theater company “Schlicksupp Teatertrupp” (director: Paul Binnerts ), a. a. 1986 as Miranda in Shakespeare's late work The Tempest and 1987 as Angela Vicario in Chronicle of a Death forebody . Further free theater work followed.

In 1989/90 she attended the private acting school Athanor Theater in Munich under the direction of David Esrig , where she received her professional acting training. In 1991 she appeared in the title role of Strindberg's play Fräulein Julie at Theaterhaus Frankfurt . From 1992 until the end of the 1997/98 season, Fehrmann was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Heidelberg City Theater . Her roles there included a. the Queen in Reinecke Fuchs (1992, after Goethe ), the Iphigenie in Iphigenie Königskind by Pauline Mol (1993), the title role in Antigone (1995), Senora / Idiot in Andorra (1995) and Elli in Kasimir and Karoline (1997).

Since then Fehrmann has been working as a freelance actress. She first appeared again at the Theaterhaus Frankfurt, in 1997 as Frau Sibirien in the comedy Hotel Sibirien by Roel Adam and in 1998 as Julie in Danton's death . In 1998/99 she worked in the Alten Mühle Bad Vilbel as Ottilie in Im Weißen Rößl in a production for singing actors. In 1999/2000 Fehrmann completed postgraduate studies for professional actors at the German Drama Academy in Munich, with a focus on media, parallel to her work as an acting. In 2001 she was a guest at the Grimm Fairy Tale Festival in Hanau as Queen in Die Gänsehirtin am Brunnen .

Subsequently, she put her artistic focus on readings, recitations and literary reading evenings in theaters, museums, libraries and bookshops. Her repertoire ranges from Molière to the classical texts of literary modernism. She read u. a. from So spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche (2006; Neues Theater Höchst), from the novel Am Gletscher by Halldór Laxness (including 2012; Neues Theater Höchst) and from letters by Georg Büchner (2012; Frankfurt am Main City Library).

In 2012 and 2014 she was a guest as a reciter and actress at the Willy Praml Theater in Frankfurt am Main. In 2014 she took over as the housemaid in a production of Arthur Schnitzler's play Der Reigen .

Since 1982 Fehrmann has been seen repeatedly in film and television productions, where she mostly took on small supporting roles, including a. as mother in the film Hand in Hand (2001) by Maria Teresa Camoglio , as fantasy author Yvette Ziegler in the television film Forever in Heart (2004; alongside Natalia Wörner ), as psychologist Frau Peters in the television film Father on the Flucht (2007; with Oliver Korittke as a partner), as best friend Margret in the television film Love is not forgotten (2009; at the side of Katrin Saß ) or as the school director in the Taunus crime thriller Mordsfreunde (2014).

In the movie Im Spinnwebhaus (2015) she had a small role as a neighbor. In the 6th season of the ZDF series Bettys Diagnose (2020), she took on a leading role in the episode as a patient with compartment syndrome .

Since 1983 Fehrmann has also been a speaker for radio plays and features for various television and radio companies, including a. for ZDF , arte , Deutschlandfunk , Hessischer Rundfunk and in advertising . From 1984 to 1985 she worked as a television announcer for the Hessischer Rundfunk. Since 2000 she has been editor, presenter and speaker at hr2-kultur .

Since the mid-1990s, Fehrmann has also been working as a freelance acting teacher and acting coach. She teaches acting, voice training and speech training. Another focus of her work is the preparation of aspiring actors for application and audition at drama schools.

Fehrmann lives in Frankfurt am Main .
