Petra Meyenburg

Petra Meyenburg (born November 15, 1959 in Bad Berka ; † April 15, 2010 in Berlin ) was a German literary editor and radio play director .

Live and act

After studying German and psychology in Jena, Petra Meyenburg worked as a literary editor and director at Radio DDR II from 1983 , where she was responsible for series such as “Music and Poetry” or “Hour of World Literature”. From 1990 she worked at DS-KULTUR as an editor and presenter and from 1992 as a freelance editor for ORB - Radio Brandenburg . From 1998 until her untimely death in 2010 she worked as a freelance editor, author and director for various radio programs such as MDR Kultur / MDR Figaro , Deutschlandradio Berlin and RBB Kulturradio .

For MDR Kultur she produced the great readings of novels: Christoph Hein : Von allembegan (1998) with Ulrich Mühe , Landnahme (2004) with Hanns Zischler , Alexander Lang , Gudrun Ritter , Wolfgang Winkler , Angelika Waller and Peter Sodann ; Klaus Mann : The turning point (1999) with Ulrich Noethen and Sigrid Damm : Christiane and Goethe (2000) with Eva Mattes .

The audio book version of her adaptation of the Bulgakov novel The Master and Margarita (MDR 1998) became the audio book of the year 1999.

The author's reading Allerseelen (2003) by and with Cees Noteboom and the recording of Reiner Kunze's The Wonderful Years (2004) with Winfried Glatzeder were created for MDR Figaro under her direction . Together with Gert Haucke , she produced the series Hund auf Herz (MDR 2003).
