The Pfaffenkopf near Mauloff in the Hessian Hochtaunuskreis is 586.9  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Taunus low mountain range .

location

The Pfaffenkopf rises in the eastern Hintertaunus in the Taunus Nature Park . Its summit lies in the district of Weilrod between the districts of Reichenbach ( Waldems ) in the southwest, Riedelbach in the north and Mauloff in the east. The Breiteberg ( 562.5  m ), about 500 m away, is a northwest branch of the Pfaffenkopf. The Reichenbach flows southwest of the mountain to the Emsbach valley . The horse's head rises 3.5 km to the east .

Natural allocation

The Pfaffenkopf belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Taunus (No. 30) and in the main unit Eastern Hintertaunus (302) to the subunit Pferdskopf-Taunus (302.6). To the west, the landscape drops into the Steinfischbacher Hintertaunus sub-unit (302.7).

The Pfaffenkopf is completely wooded. Beech trees predominate, but oaks and especially spruces are also represented.
