Suddenly famous is a German comedy film and a love story by director Oliver Schmitz from 2005. In the lead role , Zoe Weiland plays Cindy Fassbender, who grew up as a half- orphan without a father and who unexpectedly wins a pop-casting .
action
Cindy is a young woman who dreams of becoming a fashion stylist. Suddenly she gets into a competition for pop singers, from which she also emerges as the winner, although she actually only planned to accompany her friend Nadine there.
When she already sees in her mind's eye that she will become a successful pop singer, she realizes the real background: It was bet on her that she would not be able to get a record deal.
Some misunderstandings clear up in the course of the action, but other misunderstandings are added. At the end of the plot, Cindy agrees to have a love affair with Fritz, who loved her from the start.
production
Iris Wolfinger produced the film for Cologne Film GmbH & Co. KG . The film was shot in Cologne .
criticism
TV Spielfilm gave its thumbs up (best film rating): “With a lot of love for detail and gentle irony, the story tries to be realistic. The sweet Zoë, Stefan Jürgens as an asshole with a heart and the discreet Bohlen copy Jan Henrik Stahlberg [...] Only the romance patched in between - no one would have needed it in this case ” also prove to be a good grip . The summary of the program magazine is: " My Fair Lady as cute teenage fun".
The lexicon of international films judges neutrally: "The undemanding (television) comedy tries to give the familiar Pygmalion material a hip note and in doing so to expose excesses of a society in love with me."
