Eating French Fries is a German children's film from 2012 by the director Tina von Traben . The theatrical release in Germany was on July 12, 2012.
action
Patty wants to be star chef, but has repeatedly in the chip shop to help out her mother. It's not going well, even though Mother Frieda inherited a legendary recipe for currywurst sauce from her father - Grandpa Frey. When Frieda collapses completely overworked and goes on cure, Patty and her younger sisters Selma and Lilo have to keep the family business going. However, since she has the chance of an internship with a star chef, the work is left to the sisters who, due to an accident, burn down the chip shop.
To save the family business, the sisters take part in a competition organized by MSV Duisburg , which is looking for a new stadium catering operator. However, Frieda's brother Uncle Walther, who runs a chain of chips stalls in the Ruhr area , but does not know his father's secret recipe, also joins this competition .
In front of the MSV stadium, shortly before the next home game, the fans will vote between Walther's Pommes King and the Frey sisters' booth.

Eating French fries celebrated its premiere on July 7, 2012 in the Lichtburg in Essen , after it was premiered as a competition entry at the German Children's Media Festival Goldener Spatz 2012.
Patty and Selma are also the names of the older sisters of Marge Simpson from the globally successful animated series The Simpsons .
