Porto is a small place that belongs to the municipality of Ota , at the end of the gulf of the same name on the west coast of Corsica between Calvi and Ajaccio , framed by the town of Piana and the Corsica Regional Nature Park as well as the Calanche in the south and the Girolata peninsula with the La Scandola nature reserve in the North. The place has about 600 inhabitants.

The Gulf of Porto is one of the most beautiful areas in Corsica. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO . The river Porto flows into the sea in the port of Porto-Marina. From the southern Capu d'Orto (1,294 m) you have a panoramic view of the gulf. Eucalyptus grows in large quantities around the town of Porto . A landmark of the place is a Torregiana from the 15th century.
