The Gmina Praszka is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Oleski of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the small town of the same name ( German : Praschkau , older Prauska , Proszka ) with about 7650 inhabitants.

The municipality is located 15 kilometers south of Wieluń on the right bank of the Prosna , which formed the Polish-German border until 1939. Praszka was on the Polish side during the attack on Poland .
