Preddvor (German: Höflein ) is a municipality below Jezersko (German Seebergsattel ) in the Gorenjska region in Slovenia .
Location and inhabitants
3660 people live in the total community, which consists of fourteen localities. The main town Preddvor alone has 829 inhabitants and is located at 494 m, ten km northeast of Kranj .

The place Preddvor is located at the foot of the Storžič mountain (2132 m) on the Kokra (German Kanker), a good five kilometers north of Kranj in an area in which there are four castles: Turn pod novim gradom (Thurn unter Neuburg), where The first Slovenian writer Josipina Urbančič - Turnograjska was born in 1833 and lived until her marriage to Lovro Toman in 1853, the Preddvor (Höflein) and Hrib (Obergörtschach) castles and the ruins of the Novi grad (Obererckenstein) castle.
