history

Old logo before renaming

The association was founded on March 2, 2002 under the name Arbeitskreis Homosexueller Mit der Bundeswehr e.V. V (AHsAB) founded. On February 29, 2020, the 20th ordinary general meeting decided to change the name of the association to QueerBw and the new logo.

requirements

On the basis of the General Equal Treatment Act ( AGG ), QueerBw calls for a further development of the previous participation system into a diversity management in which the various representatives and contact points within the Bundeswehr are brought together. This should provide competent contact points for queer members of the Bundeswehr in order to reduce discrimination and hostile attitudes towards queer members of the Bundeswehr. Another demand is the rehabilitation of male soldiers who have been disadvantaged because of their homosexuality. In a conversation with the QueerBw board on March 2, 2020, the Federal Minister of Defense , Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer , announced that she would instruct her house to identify possibilities for rehabilitation.
