The Río Tapacarí is one of the tributaries of the Río Rocha , which later merges into the Río Caine and thus forms the upper reaches of the Río Grande in Bolivia .

course

The Río Tapacarí rises between the mountain ranges of the Serranía de Sicasica and the Cordillera Mazo Cruz west of the city of Sacaba at an altitude of 4109 meters in the Municipio Tapacarí . From there it flows for the first seventeen kilometers in a largely southerly direction to Tapacarí , the central village of the municipality. It unites here with the Río Huateca, the Río Choroma and the Río Chillka and flows another seventeen kilometers in a more southerly direction until it reaches the border with the Municipio Sipe Sipe at the village of Ramadas at the tributary of the Río Calliri and the Río Huay Campara . On the following eleven kilometers to the tributary through the Quebrada Ornuni, the river forms the border between the Municipio Tapacarí in the province of Tapacarí on the north bank of the river, and the Municipio Sipe Sipe in the province of Quillacollo on the south bank of the river. For the remaining seven kilometers, the river is crossed by the Ruta 4 highway between Caracollo and Cochabamba until it flows into the Río Rocha between Parotani and Tajra .
