Radio Contact was founded in 1980 by the Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion in Brussels and is now part of the Radio H Holding , which is mainly owned by the RTL Group . Radio Contact is one of the leading music broadcasters in the French-speaking part of the country, with more than a million listeners every day.

program

Radio Contact was initially divided into three regional sections: a French one in Brussels and the Wallonia region , a Dutch -speaking one in Brussels and Flanders and a German-speaking program for the German-speaking community of Belgium in Eupen .

Francis Lemaire was General Director of Radio Contact (French and Dutch speaking) until September 2006. His successor for the French-language program is Eric Adelbrecht. The Flemish program has since been discontinued.

In German-speaking Belgium, Radio Contact has been broadcasting a German-language program since November 1995, the claim is: "The best mix for the Eupener Land and the Eifel." At the beginning of 2017, Grenz-Echo AG took over 51 percent of the regional radio station. The German program is produced by the Cobel D corporation in Eupen, whose CEO is André Goebels. The program can be received on the VHF frequency 107.0 MHz in the Eupen and Aachen area and on the 98.0 MHz frequency in the south of the German-speaking Community and parts of the German Eifel.

At the end of 2019, the competitor Fantasy Dance FM will discontinue the program because the FM frequency will be withdrawn from it. Radio Contact is very interested in this VHF frequency of 96.7 MHz. The Radio Contact - Ostbelgien Now program is to be broadcast on this frequency in the future .
