Libramont-Chevigny is a Belgian municipality in the Neufchâteau arrondissement in the province of Luxembourg .

The municipality consists of the eight localities Bras, Freux, Libramont, Moircy, Recogne, Remagne, Sainte-Pierre-Chevigny and Saint-Pierre .

geography

Libramont is 500 m above sea level in the center of the south-eastern Ardennes . Here is a star of watersheds of several rivers. Clockwise

  • to the north the Ourthe
  • to the east the Géronne, a right tributary of the Sûre (Sûre)
  • to the south the Vierre, a right tributary of the Semois
  • to the northwest the Lesse
  • after a brook to the Lomme , right tributary of the Lesse.

Thanks to this location, it is a traffic hub for both the road and rail networks .

traffic

The municipality has a train station on the Namur – Luxembourg line , and the Athus – Libramont line ends here . There used to be a connection to the disused Libramont – St Vith railway .
