Radio ZU is a Romanian private radio that has been on the air since September 29, 2008 . The station is based in the capital Bucharest and belongs to the Intact Media Group, which also includes the Romanian Antena TV group (Antena 1–3, Euforia Lifestyle), some newspapers and the radio station Romantic FM .
The station is best known for its morning show with the moderators Mihai Morar and Daniel Buzdugan, which was initially advertised with a controversial advertising campaign in which the moderators presented themselves on advertising posters with Hitler beards and proclaimed the "dictatorship of good humor". The program runs daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Since March 30, 2009 , the broadcast has also been taken over by Impact FM in northeast Romania, where Radio ZU cannot be received, for example in cities such as Iași , Suceava and Câmpulung Moldovenesc .
history
Before it started broadcasting on September 29, 2008, the station tried to draw attention to itself through a large-scale advertising campaign. For weeks the slogan “Who is ZU?” Was omnipresent in the streets of Bucharest. The slogan could be read on posters in subway stations and bus stops, on printed canvases that hung down from windows and even as graffiti on house walls. For a long time, the population puzzled what the term “ZU” might mean and the advertising campaign was even questioned on national television. Shortly before the start of broadcasting, the puzzle was then revealed.
program
Radio ZU plays a well-formatted, heavily dance- heavy contemporary hit radio program aimed at people between the ages of 14 and 29. In addition to international pop music, the selection of music is heavily influenced by Romanian titles, the majority of which can be assigned to the house genre.
