Rafał Dutka (born August 14, 1985 in Nowy Targ ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Podhale Nowy Targ in the Ekstraliga since 2018 .
Career
Club
Rafał Dutka began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with the Polish record champions Podhale Nowy Targ . Initially active in the youth area of the club from the Lesser Poland Voivodeship , he played his first adult games in the 2003/04 season and won both the Polish Cup and the title in the multinational Interliga with his team . In 2005 they won the cup again. In 2007 and 2010 he was Polish champion with Podhale . After the relegation of Podhale Nowy Targ from the Ekstraliga in 2012, the defender moved to Upper Silesia for GKS Tychy . A year later he went to the Ekstraliga promoted KTH Krynica , but left the club in December 2013 after the Polish ice hockey association initiated proceedings against the club for violating license conditions. He moved to KH Sanok , with whom he was able to win the Polish championship title in the same season. In 2015 he moved to KS Cracovia in Krakow. With the club, he won the Polish championship in 2016 and 2017 and also the national cup competition in 2016. In 2018 he returned to Podhale Nowy Targ.
International
For Poland, Dutka took part in the junior division I of the U18 World Junior Championship in 2003 and Division II of the U20 World Junior Championship in 2004 , when in Sosnowiec, home, with five clear wins, the promotion to Division I succeeded.
He made his debut in the men's national team in November 2008 during the Olympic qualification for the Games in Vancouver 2010. At the first round tournament in Sanok , however, the Polish team could not use their home advantage and lost the decisive game to reach the second qualification stage against Japan with 1 : 3. In the following years Dutka represented his colors at the Division I tournaments of the 2010 , 2011 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015 World Championships . He also played for Poland in the Olympic qualification for the Games in Sochi 2014.
