The history of Raiffeisenbank eG Flieden began on May 3, 1882 with the establishment of the Fliedener Loan Bank Association as the first cooperative in the old district of Fulda. 112 people registered as members on the day it was founded. Further loan funds were founded in Rückers in 1884 and in Magdlos in 1924. They merged with lilacs in 1970 and 1960 respectively. With the merger of Raiffeisenbank eG Großenlüder and Raiffeisenbank eG Flieden to form Raiffeisenbank im Fuldaer Land eG, the branches in Flieden and Rückers were transferred to the new bank in 2019.
The original loan associations or loan offices of Raiffeisenbank Flieden eG were thus:
The beginnings of all predecessor cooperatives were similar. At the smallest local level, savings and credit transactions were initially carried out in the private apartments of the cash register. Later, the banks were also increasingly active as commodity cooperatives for agricultural needs and made agricultural machines available for communal use.
After the Second World War , the individual banks expanded strongly, increased their balance sheet volume and moved into larger business premises. The goods business was abandoned over time. Constantly changing customer behavior, legal regulations, price competition and the persistently low interest rate level led to structural adjustments being made by the bank in 2014. In addition to the expansion and further development of the "online branch", six branches were closed on March 1, 2014.
