Infrastructure and nature

The B154  Mondsee Straße (Straßwalchen / B1 to Mondsee and A1 ) passes the village with a junction.

The valley route of the long-distance hiking trail Via Nova (5th section Mattsee via Oberhofen - Mondsee and on to St. Wolfgang ) leads through the village . From Laiter the marking goes to Ramsau on the bike path route of the B154, but one path also leads via Nagendorf.

The moss meadows on the east bank of the Irrsee between Ramsau and Graben are part of the Irrsee-Moore nature reserve . The banks of the Irrsee are among the best preserved natural areas of this type in the Salzkammergut. This southern section on the east bank includes some very valuable fen and Steifseggenried areas.

To the south, the Seefelder , which is a little higher than the lake, extend to Unterschwand . It is a series of terminal moraines of various retreat stages of the Dachstein glacier in the glacier retreat time since the end of the Würm glacial period , the last ice age (approx. 100,000-10,000 years before today). You run into the lake, at the level of Ramsau there is a bar across the Irrsee, which separates the smaller northern, 27-meter-deep basin of the Irrsee from the southern, up to 32 meters.
