The Ramsauer Ache is a river in the Berchtesgaden Alps in Bavaria. It bears its name from the confluence of the Sillersbach, which drains the Hintersee . Until then, its upper course carries the name Klausbach . After the union with the somewhat larger Königsseer Ache (a good 8.3 m³ / s compared to 7.3 m³ / s of the Ramsauer Ache) in Berchtesgaden , the river is called Berchtesgadener Ache .
Course and tributaries
In the area of the Marxenbrücke, at the entrance to the magic forest , the river flows through the Marxenklamm. At the Lattenbrücke, the Lattenbach flows to the left. In the center of Ramsau , the Schwarzeckerbach and the Freidinggraben represent the tributaries on the left, the Öfenbach flowing to the right leads, like the Freidinggraben, only water after persistent rain. In the district Wimbachbrücke flowing from right Wimbach one. At the exit of the Ramsau valley, the Ramsauer Ache forces its way through the Preisenklamm and leaves the municipality of Ramsau a little later. Over the next few kilometers, it represents the municipal boundary between Bischofswiesen and Schönau am Königssee . The Bischofswiesener Ache joins it on the left at the Gmundbrücke . Then the Ramsauer Ache forms the municipal boundary between Berchtesgaden and Schönau a. K. Shortly afterwards, it merges with the Königsseer Ache at Berchtesgaden station to form the Berchtesgadener Ache.
Valley landscape and use
The two hydropower plants Gummerer and Dieterich use the energy of the Ramsauer Ache in the Ramsauer municipality, another hydropower plant of the Bischofswiesener Wasserkraft is in operation in Engedey. At the level of the lower rock gate, the construction of a further hydropower plant was approved in 2014.
The Ramsauer Ache is spanned by the following road bridges from the confluence to the junction with the Königsseer Ache: After the magic forest through the bridge of the old Hinterseer Strasse, at the Marxenklamm through the Marxenbrücke ( St 2099 ), at the entrance through the Pfeiffenmacherbrücke, through the village the Wirts-, Schmied-, Bachrand-, Neuhausen- and Hiasenbrücke; These are followed by the Reschenbrücke at the Resia settlement, then the Aurerbrücke and the Wimbachbrücke. In the area of the municipalities of Bischofswiesen and Schönau am Königssee, the Duftbrücke (BGL) and the Stangersteg bridge were last one of the three bridges of the roundabout ( B 305 ) before they merged with the Königsseer Ache .
