Randall H. "Randy" Burridge (born January 7, 1966 in Fort Erie , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played 813 games for the Boston Bruins , Washington Capitals , Los Angeles Kings during his playing career between 1983 and 1999 and Buffalo Sabers played in the National Hockey League (NHL) on the left winger position . As a player of the Washington Capitals Burridge took over in 1992 at the NHL All-Star Game in part.
Career
Burridge spent the first two years of his junior career in the B group of the Ontario Hockey League before moving to the senior class of the OHL for the Peterborough Petes for the 1983/84 season. There, too, the striker spent two full seasons before he was selected in the eighth round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft in 157th place by the Boston Bruins from the National Hockey League (NHL). Burridge stayed the following season for a few games with the Petes before making his debut in the NHL in November 1985. In the end, he completed 52 games in his rookie season . After commuting in his second professional year between the Bruins' NHL squad and that of the Moncton Golden Flames farm team , the winger was a regular for the next four years at the start of the 1987/88 season.
This remained the case in the 1991/92 season - before which he moved to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Stephen Leach . He also played his best year with 67 scorer points in 66 games and took part in the NHL All-Star Game . The second year in the US capital was marked by a serious knee injury that he had suffered in the pre-season. As a result, Burridge played only eight games for the Capitals, four of them in the 1993 Stanley Cup playoffs and two more for the Baltimore Skipjacks farm team in the American Hockey League (AHL). After another year in Washington, in which he had a very successful year after his comeback with 25 goals, he was handed over to the Los Angeles Kings shortly after the start of the lockout- shortened season 1994/95 . Warren Rychel received this in return . Burridge played 38 games in the Kings jersey.
In October 1995, the offensive player changed teams again when he signed a contract with the Buffalo Sabers as a free agent . There he found a sporting home for the next three years. He then ended his career with the Las Vegas Thunder in the International Hockey League (IHL) and the Hannover Scorpions from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). After the 1998/99 season, the Canadian ended his active career at the age of 33.
