Rathaus is the name of a quarter in the city of Zurich to the right of the Limmat , named after the town hall located there . It forms today along with the neighborhoods Lindenhof , colleges and City the circuit 1 , the old town of Zurich .

The town hall is located on the Limmatquai directly on the Limmat . It was built in the Renaissance style in 1694/98. The municipal council meets every Wednesday evening in the town hall.

The Helmhaus from the 18th century and guild houses from the 17th and 18th centuries are nearby.

The Niederdorf (s Dörfli) takes up part of the quarter . This is mainly known as the entertainment district. In addition to countless bars and restaurants, there are also cinemas, shops and clubs.
