Ray C. Osborne

Raymond Claiborne "Ray" Osborne (born September 7, 1933 in Winston-Salem , North Carolina , †  March 3, 2011 in Boca Raton , Florida ) was an American politician . Between 1969 and 1971 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Florida.

Career

Nothing is known about Ray Osborne's youth and schooling. After studying law and being admitted to the bar, he began to work in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1969 and 1971 he was at the side of Claude Roy Kirk, Lieutenant Governor of the State of Florida and representative of the Governor . This office was reintroduced after a reform of the state constitution. It was abolished in 1888 following an earlier constitutional reform. According to the old constitution, the vice-governors also presided over the Florida Senate until 1888 . Under the constitution of 1968 this office is exercised by a state senator.

After his tenure as Lieutenant Governor, Ray Osborne practiced law again. He died on March 3, 2011 in Boca Raton.
