The Southeast region is one of the five regions of the United States that sends participants to the Junior League Baseball World Series . The Southeast region has been taking part in this tournament since 1981, back then under the name Region South . When the field of participants increased in 2002, the Southwest region was replaced by the South region. In 2009 the region was renamed Southeast.
