The South Region was one of the five regions of the United States that sent participants to the Junior League Baseball World Series . The southwest region has participated in this tournament since 1981. From the tournament in 2002, the Region Southwest group was separated. In 2009, the South region was renamed the Southeast Region group .

Until 2001 the region was divided into four divisions. The winners of each division played for the starting place at the Junior League World Series.

In 2002 the divisions were abolished. The eight teams remaining in Group South after the split from Südwest played against each other for the starting place at the JLWS.
